Kerala State Audit Department

Local Fund Audit is the official audit mechanism that legally examines the financial activities, income, expenditure, accounts, and utilization of funds for various projects of the Grama Panchayat. Conducted through the State Government’s Audit Department, this process ensures that all financial transactions of the Panchayat are carried out in a transparent and accountable manner.

As part of the audit process, annual accounts, bills, vouchers, bank transactions, project expenditures, and revenue records are thoroughly examined. The audit report also identifies violations, errors, or unauthorized expenditures and provides recommendations for corrective actions.

Local Fund Audit ensures the proper utilization of public funds while enhancing transparency and credibility in governance. It strengthens the financial management system of the Grama Panchayat and ensures an accountable administration for the public.
