Major Announcements and Allocations
Oachira Garden City (Udyana Nagaram)
Funds have been allocated for the third phase of the “Oachira Garden City” project, aimed at making Oachira a waste-free town. A new MCF (Material Collection Facility) building will also be constructed for the scientific management of plastic waste.
Keragramam Project
Special priority has been given to the “Keragramam” and “Coconut Rejuvenation” projects, which focus on preserving Oachira’s coconut heritage through the production and distribution of coconut saplings using modern technology. Funds have also been allocated for paddy cultivation, vegetable farming, and milk subsidies.
LIFE Housing Scheme
An amount of ₹4.11 Crore (₹4,11,35,000) has been allocated for comprehensive housing projects, including the purchase of land and construction of houses for the homeless.
Administrative Block
A new Administrative Block, including a shopping complex, will be constructed at a cost of ₹3.50 Crore to increase the Panchayat’s own revenue and improve the efficiency of public services.
Social Welfare
The budget includes projects such as:
- Day-care home for senior citizens (₹6 lakh)
- Scholarship for differently-abled individuals (₹20 lakh)
- Construction of Buds School building (₹20 lakh)
- Women’s safety initiatives
- Self-employment schemes for mothers of differently-abled children
Objective
The objective of this budget is to transform Oachira into a green and sustainable model town through democratic participation while preserving its agricultural and cultural heritage.
